Cruise Day 4: Roatan

Day 4: Roatan

Day 4 began as a nice, lazy day. Scott began it a little too lazy and was 10-15 min late to breakfast. While he was gone, we thought it'd be a good opportunity to order something *special* for him. A lucky charms omelette. Serious. Our waiter couldn't understand what we were asking for and kept laughing about it. He said that when he took the order to the kitchen, the cook said that in all of his years he had NEVER had such an order.

Of course nobody said anything to Scott himself. So as he's eating a piece of bacon he looks to see what kind of omelette we got for him and he reacted thus:

Laughing as he tries to eat some. Gotta try it, right?

Hmmmm, not so bad...
Haha, poor thing. I don't think he was every late to breakfast again. (and we did order him some normal french toast so he'd have something real to eat).

In Roatan we decided to just go lay out on the beach. We're SO glad we did that - there's a beautiful beach with chairs and everything that's only a 5-10 minute walk away. Yay for being on a cruise!
Justin's feet got a little burned...

Excited for the beach...

I looked this up after we got home, but Roatan is actually a small island off the coast of Honduras. It's not actually part of the mainland of Honduras. I was also impressed with how far south it actually is! I guess it's no wonder the weather was SO warm and beautiful! Hot even!

Claire and her darling new friend Hazel. Hazel and her family live in Orlando, which is our second favorite city in the world, and we're excited to see them soon!

There were some fun picture opportunities on our way to the beach.

Yes, we're bursting out of a cake. Like I said, coolest family ever. Getting in/out of it was a little tricky though :)

Laying on the beach was SO NICE. They had chairs we could just use with lots of palm trees for shade. The shade actually didn't last long, and it was a HOT day.

Jumping off the end of the pier. We did this using a water camer with one exposure, so we didn't really have any practice or feedback as to how it went. Besides the fact that you can't see Katie or Justin's faces, I think it turned out okay. Yay for fun jumping pictures into delicious tropical water!!!

Did I say this cruise was bliss? Sunshine + food + Justin (+Justin in a bathing suit all day) = all I ever need in life. I LOVED taking this trip with Justin so much. It was fun to kick back away from work and responsibility and to just indulge in fun and food and each other. We're already planning our next cruise. Maybe Thanksgiving... We'll keep you posted and you're all invited!

Dad's favorite thing: naps!
Justin followed suit and actually took a good, long nap here.

The view from our beach chairs. Don't you want to be in this picture?

Us in front of our ship.

We got back on the boat and went straight back to our pool. We got to watch a BEAUTIFUL sunset. While taking pictures of the sunset, this sweet older man came up and offered to take a picture of us too. Yay!

So we went back to our room and go ready for dinner. Before dinner, they were playing Minute to Win It games in the main theater. We stopped in to watch and I found myself on the stage playing one of the games. The contest was to put a Reese's Cup on our forehead and then WITHOUT HANDS get it into our mouth. If you know me, I know you're already thinking "Challenge Erin to eat a Reese's quicker than anybody else... that's gonna be bad for the other guys." And it was. I was the only person to finish and I did it quite quickly too. I was rewarded with a trophy! And I didn't realize that the chocolate did get all over my face during my efforts. The after pic:

Dad got the warm chocolate melting cake EVERY night (literally - and one night I think he got two?). Mom got it most nights, and everybody else had it 1-4 times. Dad liked it so much he wanted to use it as toothpaste!
And when we came home that night we had a bat? We weren't sure what it was, so if you have a better guess please let us know!!!
